EASY ENGLISH WS 10 -  TRANSLATION

Ex.1. Translate the following paragraph into its nearest possible meaning in Hindi.

SCHOOL PICNIC

Last month our class teacher took us for a picnic. It was a lovely experience. We went to a garden near our school. We were asked to carry some food. Some of us carried fruits, some carried cakes, and some carried snacks. We also took along with us bats, balls and other games.

In the morning we boarded our school bus and left for the rock garden. Once we reached there, our teacher helped us to select a comfortable place to sit. After eating fruits we played a lot of games. After that she took us for a walk round the garden.

In the afternoon, we were all hungry and tired. We sat together and had our lunch. Then our teacher read out lovely stories. We all sat together listening to her. After an hour she took us back to the bus and we all came back to the school.

EASY ENGLISH WORKSHEET 12 - SPEECH ON MOTHER TERESA

Mother Teresa

Warm greetings to distinguished guests, respected teachers and my dear friends. It is a great privilege for me to stand in front of you to say few words about the topic Mother Teresa.

Mother Teresa was born in Yugoslavia on 26th August 1910. She became a nun at the age of 18. She came to India as a Loretto sister to teach in Loretto convent in Kolkata.

The extreme poverty that she saw around her seen made her change her directions. She decided she would serve the poor, the sick and the helpless from then onwards. Moved by her example, many came forward to join her. In 1950 she started the famous order of the 'Missionaries of Charity'.

Soon many homes for the homeless, schools and hospitals were opened all over the country and abroad. Today the Missionaries of Charity have more than 150 centres in India alone and they have their branches in most countries of the world.

I thank you all for your patient hearing of my few words.

EASY ENGLISH WORKSHEET 16 – SPEECH

Television

Warm greetings to distinguished guests, respected teachers and my dear friends. It is a great privilege for me to stand in front of you to say few words about the topic Television.

Television is a great wonder of modern science. It brings the cinema at home, inside our drawing rooms and living rooms. It is the best source of entertainment. The whole family can see different types of programmes daily. These days, TV sets are within the reach of poor also.

Through TV sets, we not only hear the song but also see the singers and dancers. The advent of television has replaced the cinema also. Now the people need not go the cinema halls. They can comfortably remain indoor and watch the choicest films and other entertaining and educative programs.

In India, by means of television, good lessons are telecast also for the benefit of the students. The University Grants Commission and Indira Gandhi Open University also telecast their lesson-programs at scheduled time. These lessons are very useful. Students take great interest in these lessons as they are more informative and taught by renowned professors.

I thank you all for your patient hearing of my few words.
